World Cup 2018 soccer predictions for Poland – Colombia
“Kazan Arena” stadium hosts the match between the national selections of Poland and Colombia. The duel is on Sunday, June 24, both teams will aim to win first points in the World Cup.
Poland kicked off its 2018 World Cup with a defeat from Senegal on June 19 in Moscow. The European side was the favorite in this match and came out of the “H” group, but the Polish team did not show anything meaningful against their first opponent. The selection of Adam Nawalkaze expose the African nation and now has a more difficult rival in the face of Colombia.
The return of Poland to the World Cup after 12 years was not good. The Poland played at the Euro 2016 finals and won their qualifying group convincingly, and star striker Robert Lewandowski scored 16 goals in ten qualifying matches and was expected to lead the team against Senegal. Instead, Bayern Munich’s footballer rarely played the ball and did not hit more than 2 strokes at the opponent’s door. In the second half, he had a good opportunity to scratch a direct free kick, but the rival’s guards slaughtered. Shortly thereafter, M’Baye Niang scored a second goal for the Senegalese and predicted the final outcome of the match. Still, Poland returned to the game, but it was too late. Grzegorz Krychowiak scored his head in the 86th minute, but Poland did not have time for more than this honorable shot. Footballers such as Piotr Zielinski and Kamil Grosicki were disappointed in the Polish team. Both of them have been on the pitch for all 90 minutes and have not achieved a level but Colombia should be in the top form if they want their country to have the chance to pass the group stage.
The Colombian team reached the finals of the 2014 World Cup and again expected a strong performance in the finals in Russia. The championship, however, does not start well for the Colombian side. Jose Pekerman’s team lost 1:2 from Japan in their first match at the Mordovia Arena stadium. The duel started terribly for the South Americans who stayed less with the guy in the third minute and Japan led by a penalty. The midfielder Carlos Sanchez Moreno stopped the ball with his hand in the penalty area and was kicked out and Kagawa scored the penalty kick. So the midfielder of Espanyol will miss the match with Poland, and in his place we will probably see Wilmar Barrios, who was well against the Japanese. Otherwise, Colombia showed a spirit and with a man less managed to equalize through Juan Fernando Quintero, who started as the title holder in place of James Rodriguez‘s star. The Bayern Munich player appeared in the 60th minute but the Colombian team was too defensive. The selection of Jose Pekerman allowed a second goal in the 73rd minute and failed to equalize until the end of the match, which left empty-handed at the start of the World Cup. Colombia is expected much more on this World Cup after their great performance four years ago in Brazil. South Americans have no right to more wrong moves and are very well aware that the match against Poland is a final for them, especially considering that the Poles have 0 points after the first round.

This match will be crucial for both teams. Equality does not suit them and we can hardly see defensive football from Poland and Colombia. It is unlikely that the meeting will start so bad for the Colombians, as with Japan. In the first matches of the two teams there were successful matches and I think this match will not be an exception. I expect the attackers of both teams Robert Lewandowski and Radamel Falcao to play a key role in the game and see goals in both doors.
